Screen Printing on Acrylic Invitations?
Many of our dealers have asked us to explain the differences between UV printing and screen printing on acrylic invitations. They are wondering which printing method is the best choice for their acrylic invitations. Hope this article will explain the process for you.
UV Printing Process---Multiple ColorsBefore explaining the process of UV printing on acrylic invitation, what you should know is that UV printing can be done with multiple ink colors. Actually, this is why so many of our dealers' first choice is UV printing. Now let's
talk about the whole process of UV printing on acrylic invitation.
1. First a blank acrylic board is prepared with a film to protect it from little scratches.
2. Then the board is distributed with white ink on the surface by the printer (called a "substrate"), specially designed
UV lights follow close behind, curing or drying the ink instantly.
3. After that, the printer distributes multiple ink colors on the white substrate.
4. After curing and drying, the board is cut according to the specific
size requested.
Screen Printing Process---Single Color1. First thing is to prepare a screen made of a piece of mesh over a frame and a blank acrylic board.
2. Then a stencil is formed by blocking off parts of the screen in the negative image of the design to be printed.
3. After that, ink is rolled over the screen and only the areas that have been printed will allow the ink to come through. Essentially, adhering a print to acrylic without air bubbles, creating stunning great visual feel.
Note：1) The screened board can only be used once
2) Gold color is a preferential one due to the perfect effect
Although screen printing can only be done in one color, many of our dealers still prefer to use it. And now we have Five colors for you to choose from. White, Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Silver.
